AMT Bass Zealot BZ-300 Bass Power Amplifier Released
AMT Electronics has released its new bass power amplifier, the AMT Bass ZEALOT BZ-300. Featuring Class D audio amps, AMT BZ-300 offers up to 300 Watts of power. It offers two operation modes, one with 300 watts at 4 Ohms and the other with 150 watts at 8 Ohms. Yes, the device is small, but don’t underestimate its capabilities with its size as it can deliver huge sounds along with AMT bass preamps.
AMT ZEALOT BZ-300 Bass Amplifier Design and Features
Front Panel
On the front panel, AMT Bass Zealot BZ-300 features a big knob that is basically a 12 step attenuator. If the attenuator is at its first position, it mutes the input signal. As you raise its level, the input sensitivity increases in steps accordingly. Sometimes, the signal gets too loud if the sensitivity is set too high. This behavior may damage the amplifier. But the BZ-300 can automatically protect itself from overloading by engaging the limiter automatically as the signal crosses the threshold limit.
Besides the attenuator, you will find 2 LED indicators (one for input and another for limiter). When the input signal reaches the threshold limit (Approx. 10dB above the nominal level chosen with the input signal attenuator), the limiter’s red light starts glowing. Lastly, the power switch is located on the right side of the front panel.
Rear Panel
On the rear panel, you will find an AC mains power socket where you will connect the power cord. Below that, there is a voltage selector switch that lets you toggle the AC mains voltage. Then comes the two speaker outputs that operate in two different modes (300 watts RMS into 4 Ohm load or 150 Watts RMS into 8 Ohm load). These two identical outputs are wired in parallel. Either you can use one of them or use both together.
Via XLR Link Connector, you can send a parallel input signal to other devices such as mixing console, audio interface, etc. In addition, you can also connect a second bass amplifier to the AMT Bass Zealot BZ-300 using Link connector. As a benefit, you get double the power as well as connectivity options.
Towards the right of the rear panel is the XLR / TRS 1/4″ combo female port where you can plug either a balanced XLR / TRS cable or an unbalanced TS cable as input signal source.
Pricing and Availability
The new AMT ZEALOT BZ-300 bass amplifier is available to ship at a price of €490.00 EUR including VAT.
